We recently taste-tested several of Shabtai Gourmet’s gluten-free products and we have a somewhat mixed review. For full disclosure, Shabtai Gormet sent us these products to try and review.
The Brownie Bites and gluten-free Ring Tings (like Hostess Ding Dongs) have good flavor, although the Brownie Bites have an extremely crumbly texture. They literally fall apart when you take them out of the cupcake liner. The lady-fingers are good as well, but we haven’t had an opportunity to test them with a tiramisu recipe, so they may be great. On the other end of the spectrum, the Meltaway Cookies were a little too powdery with too much almond flavoring, and the Raspberry Roll was our least favorite.
Overall, we would recommend trying Shabtai’s products for something different and chocolaty. In addition to being gluten free, Shabtai Gourmet markets their products as being kosher, lactose free, casien free, soy free, and free of trans fat.
